Family time at the cabin with Grace

Reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
We discovered a huge carrot as we were ripping out the last of the garden plants.
Happiest boy in the world when his uncle Joel sent him a Ty Detmer Heisman card!
Paul gave Alice her first driving lesson.
She was so proud of her parking job!
I made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with eyeballs to pass along when we got "boo'd".
Toby likes for me to read to him over breakfast. Unfortunately, he doesn't usually eat breakfast anywhere normal or comfortable!
Why are his feet on backwards?

Making grape juice from the small crop of grapes we got.
Pretty sour.
Alice at the tri-stake dance with her friends.
Our roses are still blooming.

Charlie made pumpkin pie.
Toby finished off the couscous straight from the serving bowl after dinner.
Family walk to the church.

People tossed around the football.

And we played hide and seek.

Getting ready for our ward trunk or treat.
Alice was a scarecrow.

Charlie was a cowboy.

Toby was Perry the Platypus.
And Danny was Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Perry's nemesis).

The youth were in charge of some carnival games at the event.
Paul decorated our trunk.
The little boys trick or treated.
They loved the donut game!

Just for fun, with BYU's big football winning streak, a very old photo banging on the side of the stadium as the team ran in. I think that's Ashley, Shantelle, me, Paul, and Heather?

Grace came home for our cabin weekend!
She got this cool spider pic.

Two-headed monster!
Pizza dinner at the cabin.

Grace: "You have inside jokes without me now?!"

Everyone pretty much just does whatever they want at the cabin.

We did indoor smores the first night because we didn't feel like going out and building a fire in the dark and cold.

Charlie always wants one bath in the jetted tub.

The kapla blocks were popular.
As were the guitars.
And the hammock swing.

We played so many games!

Cocoa and stroopwafels for breakfast.

With the funny mugs.

Charlie learned the guitar for the first time this trip, and must've played for like 8 hours.

Jigsaw puzzle!

Toby liked going on the trail over and over again.

Sisters reconnected.

Paul helped me cut stuff out for my craft for Toby's class Halloween party.

"Look, you can see Lil Gideon's Tent of Telepathy across the stream."
"Oh, there it is!"
"What is this plant called?" There's an app for that.
But Toby preferred calling it asparagus.

Traditional bread bowls and broccoli cheddar soup for lunch.

Grace made muddy buddies. Charlie chose to drink them from a wine glass.

The Tent of Telepathy. Toby named it that because of something from a Gravity Falls episode.
Beaver evidence!

Badminton.
Firepit.

Badminton sword fighting.

Grace likes taking pictures of bugs.

Huge turkeys!

Movie night.

When Paul and I were on our missions, there was ONE temple, and like 16-18 missions.
Raking the neighbor widow's lawn before church.
Pumpkin carving! It's the one Halloween activity Grace wanted to do as a family.

Backyard time before Grace had to go home.
Charlie and Danny transported some of the neighbor's leaves to our yard for Toby:)

Goodbye, Grace! See you in a couple weeks!
