My 40th bir(d)thday!

Paul smothered in sons.
Yep.
These two.
Great blue heron on Sunday morning.
Toby slipping around on what was left of the ice on the trampoline.
I turned 40 on Wednesday. We didn't technically celebrate it as a family that day (we will on Saturday), but it certainly felt like a special day.
Toby wore his mask the whole time when Paul took him to the store.
Sweet little napping guy.
Another heron last night.

Ducks.
We threw all the kids in the car for a drive around Farmington Bay on Sunday morning.

Great blue herons are so cool. I know we get to see them a lot, but it never loses its awesomeness.

Geese and swans.
Danny's leprechaun puppet.
Grace's sweatshirt from track.
Toby wouldn't come to dinner because he was having too much fun on the trampoline, but later he was willing to eat it on the patio.
Danny got to dress up as his favorite "character". Not sure why he chose pizza? He said it got pretty old that everyone was trying to eat him all day at school. "By last recess, I had a security squad of like 20 kids protecting me." Hahaha!
My alone time at the herony on my birthday.

The gnats are back. I walked through swarm after swarm after swarm of them. But they don't bite.

When Paul picked me up, he had 2 dozen roses for me!
When we got home, Justin and Kelsey had sent a gift basket full of treats
and flowers! So unexpected!
I'm a pretty blessed girl.
Heather sent flowers too! What a fun surprise!
Paul and I went to Alice's spelling bee in the evening. It was the district semifinals, so she was against about 60 other kids from our third of the district. She did great through a bunch of rounds, but got out on the very last round. She was fine with it, and we were proud of her!
Paul's Grandpa Gabe's birthday was on St. Patrick's Day. He would've been 96. Paul celebrated by eating a traditional snack his grandpa ate on his mission to Norway.
Grace's brothers love her.
Our date to Farmington Bay last night.

Pelicans flying.

Man, I love that guy!

Freddy's Steakbugers was so good!
Danny wanted to be a lobster today.
My birthday bouquets.
We got out the Easter decorations today.
Grace's brothers love her.
Alice and Charlie made these for dinner tonight. Alice did the sandwiches and Charlie did the crackers.
Sweet little guy laying at my feet watching Jungle Book.
Birthday cards. So many nice messages, money, and a promise from Ashley and Sarah to fly me out to see them in the fall! 40 is looking pretty great so far!
