Paul's little soldiers helping get cleaned and packed up for the trip on Wednesday morning. We left at noon and had a nice drive with the kids listening to podcasts and Christmas music.
Delicious potato soup and pepperoni rolls for dinner, then Mom presented us with a box of clothes/blankets for baby Toby.

Kind of a rough night, we had our own breakfast at our apartment, and then got all cute. Quick family picture before the rain started on Thanksgiving morning.

Mom and Rose. She was a very easy baby. The adults visited and played games in the afternoon, then Paul and I went to get our kids from their quiet rest movie in our apartment. When we tried to go back out the door, it wouldn't open! Paul took off the doorknob, we called Spencer and Dad to bring tools to take the door off, but the lock was stuck in there! I finally took the kids out the back window. Pies at Mom's, visiting and games, then the Duckworths headed home. We had to change into a different apartment through the back window, we put our kids to bed, then more visiting and games with Mom and Dad. And of course Paul tried to fix their computers, and we watched Jeopardy.
Friday morning, we had a delicious cocoa and toast breakfast, followed by a hike in Snow Canyon to the sand dunes.

The kids had the time of their lives at the sand dunes and Dixie Rock - all of their favorite parts of the trip.
The Dillons arrived at lunchtime for sandwiches. During the kids' quiet rest movie, the adults visited, Dillon played his mandolin, Emily and Dad took naps (separately), and Mom taught me how to make caramels and toffee. Then we went to the VC to see the nativities.

More rolls to add to the leftovers buffet. Mom and Dad took Alice and Charlie to the lighting ceremony at the temple complex. They froze! Then a big leftovers dinner, and we bathed our kids and put them to bed. The adult party that night was at Dillon's apartment. Quiddler and shakes from Iceberg.
Saturday morning, we got all packed up, cleaned the apartment, and turned in the key. We had a big pancake/eggs/bacon/hash brown breakfast at Mom/Dad's, then headed home. But first Mom needed to teach her grandkids about growing cotton. It was a great trip!
The drive home. There was quite a bit of weather to deal with, so it was a little stressful... for some of us.
We came home to snow! The kids helped unpack, then immediately got their snow gear on and ran outside to play in it.
Charlie is really into weight lifting right now. We got cleaned up, ordered Chinese food, and watched stupid cartoons on Netflix with the kids. Well, Paul and I mostly slept through it. Paul started reading the kids Harry Potter before bed (they just finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Then it was back into the freelancing grind for Paul, but what a great vacation we had!
