Fun in the Sun

Last Sunday, the girls played play-doh.
 Our 3 beauties.
In the evening, we went for a family walk on campus to the koi pond. Me and Alice.
The sun set over the ocean on our way back.
This is obviously BEFORE the sun set. (Blogger always puts my pictures in weird order.) Grace is looking at the ocean through the great binoculars Mom/Dad Gabe got us for Christmas.
Beautiful.
Happy baby.
The girls wanted me to be "Moses's mommy" for some reason. Apparently this is the costume for it. And Charlie is baby Moses.
Monday was Martin Luther King Day. Paul would normally work at his internship, but he works at a university, so they were closed! So we took our kids for a walk by the ocean.
It was sweatshirt/sunglasses/hat weather. About 65 degrees.
Some random shots of the beauty by the ocean.

Surfer. We chanced upon a surfing competition. It was so cool! They did all kinds of tricks, and the announcer was telling how many points they got and stuff. We all liked it.
The boardwalk.
Paul's new inspiration.
We could watch the waves forever!
Alice liked it a lot.
A sea bird. We have a new-found birdwatching hobby with our new binoculars, along with a cheat sheet card of all the birds in the area.
The Santa Cruz Surfing Museum lighthouse. It was closed.
Sweet sisters.
We walked back home through the neighborhoods instead of along the ocean so we could see cool houses. The girls held hands.
They did pretty well, with minimal complaining over the 2-mile walk. Then we ate our picnic while watching the surfers.
Charlie was so happy to be at the ocean!
So many surfers!
Grace's attempt at photography. It's been cropped, but not too bad really.
On Tuesday, Grace made a "me museum". It's all stuff about her. She wanted me to come see it, but I was dealing with Charlie, so she took a picture for me. This has not been cropped.
I made my first-ever quiche for dinner. It was awesome!
Grace had pajama/smoothie/movie day at school that day. Then she came home to play play-doh. She put spots all over this face she made and said: Now it looks like Aunt Sarah! She's very curious about freckles.
Breakfast for dinner: quiche and fruit salad.
That night, we played dress-up.
Grace was mad when we told her it was time to clean up.
That was after she had a wedding and married Bronco. Good old Bronco.
On Wednesday, Grace brushed Alice's teeth. She's better at it than Alice, and she's the only "dentist" Alice would allow that day, so we went with it.
Both girls wore sponge curlers the night before.
Pretty!
Where did we get such a cute pixie?
I love this kid!
She insisted on make-up.
Cute curls!
All grown up?
On Thursday, Alice refused to take a nap. She woke up like this.
On Friday, Charlie had tummy time.
Check out that soccer bum! He's looking at me through the mirror.
On Saturday, after I fixed the girls' hair, I figured I'd do Paul's too. (Photo credit: G.E. Gabrielsen)
Candid shot of me. Go BYU!
The girls made a school out of foam toys, and did workbooks.
After a long Saturday of homework, lesson planning, and grocery shopping, we took a break for a family walk in the woods. I carried Charlie in the Moby.
So happy about it!
It was cold and windy, but the girls loved running on the bridge.
The wind through the tall redwoods was awesome!
After dinner and baths, Paul built a fort and read bedtime stories to the girls. They loved it! (Mom/Dad Gabe really got us some great gifts this year!!)
Alice sings I Am a Child of God.
