Between Reunions

The girls LOVE playing that one of them is a horse. Neither of them seem to mind it - they think it's hilarious!
On Monday, Grace taught FHE on respect. Here's the interesting outfit she wore to lead the song. It's three dress up skirts over her clothes.
Then we had a fancy dinner of crockpot cornish hens/potatoes/carrots, leftover French bread from the reunion, and delicious peaches from my visiting teacher. We used a tablecloth, cloth napkins, flowers, and candles (battery-operated), and I made a pudding pie for dessert using food storage pudding. It didn't quite set up, but we all learned to be polite and respectful to go along with Grace's lesson.
Somehow, Grace had decided that Prince Paul had invited us all to a ball that evening. Hence the fancy meal and the interesting attire. Paul even wore a bow tie and top hat!
Slash learned his fashion sense from Prince Paul.
We turned on the classical music CD we got from Greg, and the girls danced and danced.
I may have gotten a turn with the hat.
 Then Alice wanted a turn.
 And Grace.
 Girl dance party!
By the end of it all, the bow tie had broken, but we all had fun.
Then we went to Target, by way of Paul's old high school: the Jordan High beetdiggers.
Then I didn't take any pictures all week, and suddenly it was Saturday. After Alice's nap, we decided to go to Temple Square. We got to the Church History museum 10 minutes before it closed. Grace liked the full-size angel Moroni.
Future General RS President speaking at the replica of the Conference Center pulpit.
The children's section had tons of fun to stuff to do. Grace fished off the ark.
 Alice was too short.
 She drove a truck instead.
Grace LOVED learning to do a dance in a huge skirt.
 Alice just liked it fine.
Paul tried "hefting" the gold plates.
The girls preferred just standing by the plates.
Then we went to the Conference Center for a tour. Neither Paul nor I had ever gone on the full tour, and we really liked our guide. Grace liked being in the big room she'd seen on TV.
She also liked all the original paintings.
The rooftop garden was very hot, but had great views.
Then we went across the street to see the Cristus statue. Grace really liked walking up the ramp to heaven and being with Jesus. She never wanted to leave! We walked by the temple, the tabernacle, and the assembly hall, and saw the mini replica of the Salt Lake temple. All very cool. Then home to get the girls to bed at a decent hour. We were worn out, but enjoyed it.
Happy third trimester to me! Three months to go!
Grace and Alice LOVED dancing at the ball!

  1. Hey Bethany---You look great! I can't remember the exact name of those skirts...but I bet the girls would LOVE to see youtube vids of the women dancing in them---the way they dance with those flowy skirts is really neat. I think it's mexican...I'd have to ask my parents since they know all that kind of stuff. Where are you moving to in CA? We will probably be going there in the next 6 months...I would LOVE to see you!
