Monday morning, we hung out at home. I gave Grace a piano lesson (Ode to Joy), and then she wanted to do math. We used colored pencils as ones units, and did addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Meanwhile, Alice made herself a turtle sandwich triple-decker pillow.
Grace wore another new outfit. She got 9 full outfits for her birthday, so it took a while to get through them all! In the evening, Grace taught FHE on bearing your testimony. She did a good job.
On Tuesday, Grace did writing practice, then we went to the library for music and movement. Paul got home at 4:30, and read books to the girls. After dinner, Alice tried on a ton of Grace's old 3T clothes. She fit a lot of it! We colored with the girls before putting them to bed, then I worked on a packing list for the Flake reunion.
Grace wore another new outfit on Wednesday. She was afraid the white polo wasn't feminine enough, so she dressed it up with a belt.
She's pretty cute.
Her hair is finally long enough to do her favorite hairstyle: Norwegian buns.

There may be a reason she's growing out of her 2T clothes already - she loves to stick out her stomach!

In the afternoon, we played in the basement. Alice found some cool glasses. Paul picked up our new van on his way home from work. $2150 later, it's supposed to not need any more maintenance for another 100,000 miles, except for $1000 more for the power steering eventually. Paul left our car at the shop since it was having lots of problems that need fixed before we can sell it. We went grocery shopping before putting the girls to bed. Then Paul and I watched that old Disney classic: The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. Wow.
On Thursday, the girls and I went to the Karl Malone Toyota dealership to get the oil changed in the RAV (Mom/Dad Gabe's car). It was painless. The girls liked looking at all the motorcycles and cars in the showroom.
They also enjoyed the pirate ship playplace.
It was nice to have an indoor place for the girls to play on such a hot day.

And she loved the free popcorn! They also had free pastries, free arcade games, and a free carwash!
When we got home, the girls did a craft.
Then I set up the tent in the living room. The girls loved playing in it! In the afternoon, Grace went to a friend's house from primary - the girl even brought her a birthday gift!
We had corn on the cob with dinner. Alice loves it - she ate 3 ears! And check out the corn she got in her bangs!
Then we had some Mommy/daughters cuddle time before going to the church for our stake temple recommends.
On Friday, I took the girls to the pediatric dentist. The whole place had a barn theme, with toys to play with and movies to watch. Grace did great! She got her teeth x-rayed, brushed, flossed, painted, and counted. Alice got her teeth counted is all - 18 versus Grace's 20. They got balloon animals before leaving. In the afternoon, we got the house ready for the Dilsavers. They brought Chinese takeout for dinner, and I made Filipino eggrolls and dessert. We had a nice visit, then Ashley and Ben put Cheyenne to bed here, and went home to get some sleep before Ashley got induced the next morning. Paul and I played scrabble while filming it in time lapse mode - pretty cool.
Cheyenne cried for a while in the night, but was fine when she got up on Saturday morning. Well, if you call this fine!
The girls played puppets together, and Cheyenne tried on every shoe in the house.
Alice and Cheyenne encouraged each other to have good dental

Alice and Cheyenne took good naps while we worked on the house and Paul mowed the lawn. Alice was cuddly when she woke up.

After a rainstorm, we took the girls on a walk. They were very interested in a snail crawling along the wall - until Cheyenne picked it up and threw it on the ground - ha!

When we got home, we had a package - all the baby boy clothes we ordered! Cute stuff. We made pizzas, and Mom/Cassidy arrived. Fun to visit with them. After dinner, Mom and Cheyenne went to Provo to see the baby.
It was so nice of Cassidy to watch out kids so Paul and I could go to the temple together. It's been a long time since we've been together. We rewarded her with a gourmet cupcake. We stayed up late with Mom and Cassidy playing dominoes and talking.
Sunday morning, we hung out for a long time. Mom watched youtube movies with the girls. Paul went to sacrament meeting in our ward at 9, I made a big brunch, and Alice ripped her elbow open on the vent in the bathroom. She got blood all over Paul's white shirt!
Cheyenne is a daddy's girl, so she gravitated to Uncle Paul. Paul
stayed home in the afternoon while Alice/Cheyenne napped.
The rest of us went to Hyrum's homecoming in Eagle Mountain. It was like homecomings used to be, with his mom and sister speaking too! We had fun visiting with tons of family afterwards, especially Elaine and Lucy.
Paul came with Alice and Cheyenne in time for the post-church dinner. Grace had attended Aunt Maylynn's primary class. She LOVES her CTR ring, and she and Isabel (Lucy's daughter) totally hit it off. Reunited after 4+ years! Incidentally, Ethan and his family are in the background of this picture.

After dinner, we went to Ashley's to see the baby Delaney. She was a hit!

On Monday, I went to Cathy's in Springville to hang out with her, Laurel, Elaine, and all our kids. Fun visiting for 2 hours. Then Elaine and I took our girls to Art City Trolley for dinner. Elaine had never been there!
I really liked my ribs, and brought some home for Paul. I taught FHE on the miracle of the seagulls, then Paul and I did tons of reunion planning. We're really excited for our next guests, arriving Saturday night!
