Camping!!!

Alice's 4-year-old physical. 41 inches tall and 41 pounds. She's between the 80th and 90th percentiles, but is growing out of all of her 4T clothes already:( She won't even be 4 for two more weeks.
Wildflowers Paul picked for me on our family walk on Monday evening.
My attempt to return the favor.
Charlie has been waking up too early. He's pretty tired by lunchtime. (P.S. He LOVES chocolate chip cookie dough, but we can hardly get him to eat an actual cookie once they're baked!)
Preliminary packing list for our camping trip. I added about 10 more things by the end of it.
Alice wasn't into doing preschool work on H day, so we went on a Hike.
We found this Huge Hungry caterpillar.
And they Hunted for oak seeds.
She was much more willing to do math when she had Hundreds of oak seeds to count!
SO interested in the caterpillar. We all were! It was a fun pet for a day.
Giant belly at 31 weeks pregnant.
We've had a few cool mornings this week.
Our family walk led us past the fire station.
The one tomato we got from Grace's plant. It was nice and red by Saturday, so we chopped it up and ate it plain. Everyone loved it!
 Budding reader, like his sisters.
They happened to be matching one day.

Alice didn't want to be left out.
No one knows how she got that scab between her eyes.
Doesn't it look just like the Very Hungry Caterpillar?
We read that it needs to burrow into the ground for the winter, so we set it free in our unused flower bed.
Friday was camping day! As soon as we got to the site, Grace sat Charlie and Alice down for a rules and regulations meeting. Typical oldest child.
Alice was in charge of the stakes while Paul set up the tent.
This ball kept Charlie entertained for a while, but he didn't really need it with all the fun nature to explore.
 Grace liked practicing her balance.
 Getting the beds set up.
Going camping while 7 months pregnant seemed like an okay idea at the time...
 Chillin' around the fire.
 Watching Daddy build.
 Camping buddies.
 Adding oxygen to the fire.
The dirty faces were just beginning.
 Hot dog roasting.
 Even Charlie got to help!
 Yummy dinner!
Paul is the marshmallow master. He's got the patience for it.
 Evening devotional/testimony meeting.
The morning fire looks impressive, but didn't last long. Lighter fluid burns quickly.
Breakfast of champions: cocoa, donuts, mini muffins, and grapes. And of course marshmallows!
 Fun foggy morning!
Paul took down the tent while the girls drew lines in the dirt to practice their tightrope walking. They'd been tripping and falling all over the place, and wanted to work on their balance.
Charlie would rather play with dirt and rocks. He was constantly filthy.
 Adorable. Mid-poop.
Grace decided Alice needed to work on her lower-case letter recognition, even on our day off.
Ready for our hike! We figure Paul was carrying about 60 pounds.
 Cool spider web.
The girls held hands for a lot of the hike...when they weren't fighting over who got to be the leader...or carrying guns made out of sticks and shooting at anything they "saw".
We loved our 2-mile hike through the forest, but it left this pregnant girl pretty sore!
 Don't forget to hydrate!
Alice the pirate. Practicing for when she may get an eye patch from the pediatric ophthalmologist next week.
Remember that Charlie cut-out I made last week? Grace turned it into a clock - ha!
