Alice loves trying out the beds at IKEA kids-eat-free day!
She requested two buns.
Engaged in interesting dinner table conversation.
Mom/Dad Gabe watched the kids so Paul and I could go on a date. We shared this awesome dessert at the Longhorn Steakhouse.
Then we checked out Pier One. We found some cool Mardi Gras masks.
Then we walked around Big Lots. Erin go bragh!
If only we had a St. Patty's Day party to go to...
Best treat ever: banana smothered in peanut butter with a couple of hershey kisses on top. One happy customer!
"I can't believe my parents are so nice to me!"
Mom/Dad Gabe bought these cute Ecuadorian sweaters for the kids. The girls' have super long pointy hoods. Love it!
Charlie got one too, but with a regular-size hood.
I made a nice spiral-sliced ham (after-holiday sale at Aldi!) for dinner when Mom/Dad Gabe arrived. We ate leftovers of it in every meal for the rest of the week, but no one complained!
Upside-down grandkids.
No school or work on President's Day, so we all went to the Air & Space Museum annex (Udvar-Hazy Center) to see all the cool planes in a giant hangar.
Charlie LOVED it! Everywhere he looked, there were huge, colorful aircraft - a little boy's dream!
Three generations of space nerds.
Paul LOVED the space shuttle. He knew EVERYTHING about it (from years and years of space nerd-dom), but he'd never seen one. I think there are only four or five left. I guess it's not just little boys whose dreams come true here!
Charlie liked the workshop area. Grace said she wanted a workspace like that for her inventing!
Alice's favorite: a plane that detaches to become a car.
I taught preschool on Wednesday: i is for igloo. Paul built this before he left for work.
Charlie got in on the fun. Then Alice destroyed it, and no one had any fun anymore! (Especially Alice, who got a time out.)
Pretending to nap.
One second later.
We had nice weather on and off on Friday, so we let Charlie get some fresh air.
Alice liked it too.
He's such a walker!
Flips.
Even Grace!
Nice weather on Saturday, so we took the kids to the high school track. Charlie loved it!!! He got to walk around to his heart's content!
But the real star was Grace. She ran a mile and a half (taking a short break after each quarter mile), and barely broke a sweat. She was awesome!
I timed her. Her baseline is about 3.5 minutes for a quarter mile. We'll start working to improve it!
Go Grace!
We got a sweet deal on these 9-square shelves (buy one get one half off), so we bought a couple. Paul spent a couple hours building them on Saturday. They're great!
The girls love their new skirts Grandma Lu bought them at a gas station! Thanks!
