Paul's birthday and our cute kids

 Here's me on Paul's birthday.
Alice pulled one of Charlie's onesies up as a skirt, with a headband as a fashionable belt.
Alice loves cuddling her baby brother.
Ever since Paul had a short class on portrait-taking last week, he has been interested in trying it out. Here's a good one he got of Charlie.
Grace after fixing her own hair and doing her own make-up, complete with eyebrow pencil!
Paul and Alice doing the dishes on Sunday.
We decorated Paul's home office space for his birthday.
Static makes balloons stick well to walls and ceilings.
 Grace did Alice's hair.
Alice fits into the "Big Sister" shirt Grace wore when Alice was born.
 Her cuteness is overwhelming.
Apparently, she's so cute it hurts.
But what about this little guy? TOTALLY my favorite Flake!
For his birthday, Grace made Paul a crown, and I made him lemon squares instead of a cake (Cassidy's recipe). I used my cardboard stencils to make a 29 out of powdered sugar - am I cool or what?
Paul got some great gifts, including a warm dress coat from his parents for the cold DC winters.
I got him a NASA shirt.
I planned a fun afternoon activity for Paul's birthday: a trip to Davenport beach. It ended up being cold and windy. Poor Charlie was not happy with all the sand blasts into his face.
 So pretty though.
The wind made for some great waves. We had fun watching them.
 Stark cliffs.
The pictures don't show the war-zone-like conditions of the intense winds, plus a screaming baby.
We climbed to higher ground to get away from the sand blasts.
We had a nice view from up there, but the wind was out of control. Charlie couldn't even catch his breath. We found some cement half-walls to hide behind, but it wasn't enough - we had to run for cover.
The stroller was a bad idea, since the path wasn't as flat as we'd hoped. Paul had to carry it up this rocky hill!
We escaped the wind, and went to eat at the restaurant I'd planned on in tiny Davenport. Everyone was happy.
Even Alice. But suddenly she was acting strange and grouchy and crying. Paul took her outside, and she threw up all over him and his new NASA shirt.
We got our food to-go, and headed home with Alice holding a bag. Note the puke on her inner arm. Yuck!
We ate our cold, soggy fish and chips, chicken fingers, and crab cakes at home. Alice felt fine and ate quite a bit!
Alice and Charlie engaged in conversation.
Outdoor tummy time on the tarp.
 Alice loves Charlie!
Cute sisters on their kid-size camp chairs.
 Trash helpers.
Paul likes to try his hand at black-and-white every now and then.
 Outdoor time!
For our pre-fasting meal, we tried rack of lamb again. It was 100 times better than last time - so good!
Paul and Grace did a science experiment using red cabbage juice to indicate acids and bases. Paul has to make a slideshow from the pictures/audio for class.
I painted all the girls' toenails!
 Tired Saturday afternoon.
 Cute sisters.
 I love those girls!
 Alice's first "Norwegian buns".
 Chocolate chip pancakes for dinner.
 Cute girl.
 Warm in the great outdoors.
 Post-buns hairdo.
Paul pruned the bush in our backyard. The girls helped haul the branches to the dumpster.
Paul did portraits before church this morning. Sisters.
 New church outfit.
 Alice.
 Full body shot.
 Happy Grace.
 Mature Grace.
 Sweet Grace.
 Natural Grace.
 Cute suit.
 Looking off into the distance.
 Begging.
