Fun with Flakes!

Dillon playing us a ditty on his new mandolin. He'd only had it for two weeks, but was pretty good.
Our latest trick to get Danny to wear his eye patch: the minion wears one too!
Numbers 6-10 for joy school. I think this is the first time Charlie has ever written any numbers.
 He wanted his picture taken.
Because I was taking Alice's picture for Wacky Wednesday at school.
 This one's ALWAYS wacky;)
 After a jam sandwich.
 And other one.
 Dancing after baths.
Cub scout leader all ready for the pinewood derby.
 The derby.
 Some of the cars.
Our new favorite app: FaceApp. The collage shows Paul normal, manlier, female, and old. Hilarious!
Me normal, old, male, and young.
Charlie drew a spider at joy school on Thursday.
Ashley got cute for her kindergarten program on Friday.
 Such a pretty girl:)
As long as we were taking pictures of her...Alice normal, old, male, and smiley.
I couldn't get very good pics at her program, unfortunately, but it was all super cute.
"This is Me" theme. Included songs like "This is Me and My Energy", "Family", "Rum Tum Tum" "I'm Not Perfect", and some recitations too.
 Charlie and Grandpa.
 Danny's turn.
 Dad.
 Mom.
 Charlie.
 Danny.
 Happy Dan!
 Their visit was too short!
 We love these guys!
Ashley tried to describe her master's degree hood, but I just kept imagining this Hogwart's robe, so we made her try it on. Gryffindor!
So proud of this sister of mine, and so glad we got to hang out for the evening!
Ben showing off all the treats we decided to try from the new Smith's.
 Classic Ben.
 Beautiful Ashley.
Hey, as long as we're taking all these portraits of people...Dad normal, smiley, young, and female.
Mom normal, old, young, and male.
Ben normal, old, young, and female.
Ashley normal, old, young, and male. We love this app!!
On Saturday, Paul and I got up at 6:30 and barely caught the Dilsavers walking out the door, heading home to Indiana. We got the kids up and left around 7:30, but not before the garbage disposal exploded all over me and I had to change my clothes! We left it to fix later. We drove 3 hours to Twin Falls, and met up with the Burrs at Shoshone Falls.
It was really cool, especially since it has been so wet lately. It was misting all over us, really full and powerful and pretty, and there was even a rainbow.
It was nice to catch up with Haley and Greg as we walked around.

"If you love them, leash them."
When the kids got sick of it, we headed to a really cool park for lunch. We ate on the grass, the kids played on the playground, the adults visited, we took pictures by a really cool bridge, walked around by the Snake River, etc.

Cool bridge, right?   It was perfect weather, but Danny was really missing his nap and letting everybody know it.
So we headed to the College of Southern Idaho, where they have a free arts/science center. We hoped Danny would fall asleep in the stroller there, but it was too interesting. Lots of fun hands-on stuff about Native Americans, fossils, minerals, and even full skeletons including a huge mammoth.
Then we went to the top floor to the observatory where they had people showing us sun spots through a telescope, and we even got to look through the biggest telescope in Idaho to see the moon and Venus!
 Sun clock.
After that, we walked around the Twin Falls temple. It is small, but beautiful, and the flowers and grounds were perfect.

Nice fountains, rocks for the kids to climb on, lawns to run around in, the adults layed out on the grass in the sun and talked and talked. It was a really nice time. (Photo cred: Grace)
Then a quick stop to the Twin Falls (they have dammed one up, so there is actually only one now), and off to dinner at Golden Corral.
We all got nice and full, said our goodbyes, and drove home our separate ways. Fun, fun trip!
