Second Honeymoon!

The week started out normal, with Charlie filling a stick with fruit loops, and then spilling them all over the carpet:)
Paul went to a cub scout pack meeting on Wednesday, now that he's the webelos leader. Rain gutter regatta.
On Thursday, I got all dolled up for our date. I sent Paul a picture to show him how excited I was!
He was just as excited back at work! When he got home, we dropped the kids off with the grandparents in Riverton, and headed to Salt Lake in their RAV for our 10-year anniversary trip!
We stayed at a hotel right downtown that we booked months ago for half off on priceline, and got upgraded to the club member level, with a king-size bed, refrigerator, free breakfast, and free hors d'ovoures in the evenings! We ate a little, then headed to City Creek Mall.
We had fun shopping and trying on silly hats.

Painting by one of Paul's co-workers. It's at the food court.
The mall closed at 9, so we headed to a late dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Thanks for the gift cards, Grandma Lu! We shared an appetizer, entree, and 2 desserts, but couldn't even finish it all. Delicious!
On Friday, we didn't sleep in much. We had a fun breakfast at the club lounge, with cocoa, bacon, eggs, yogurt/granola, etc.

Then to the Tracy Aviary, using our prepaid City Pass. It was pretty empty of people, but had very cool birds, like this Andean Condor.
We got to hang out with the macaw and its trainer.
Then we even got to go on a walk with the Andean condor!
 He was awesome!
 Paul liked these vultures.
 The flamingos were cool.

 Being eaten by a pelican.
We always love peacocks walking around.

Our friends, the sandhill cranes. We had a ton of them in New Mexico.
This bird walked up the stairs right next to Paul at the bird show! It was really hot by then, so we got ice cream bars and ate them in the park, then back to the hotel to change.
We ate lunch at the Lion House using our City Pass. They had BYU chocolate milk! Then we had a nice time at the Salt Lake Temple, where we were sealed 10 years ago. We did sealings, even some family names from both sides. Very nice to sit in the celestial room with my eternal companion. We rarely get to go to the temple TOGETHER. I love him more than ever!
Then back to the hotel to shower and get all fancy for our big date. This is on the balcony of our room.
 In front of the hotel.
We drove to Holladay, to Franck's French restaurant. Paul surprised me with roses at the table!
 Yummy fried brussels sprouts appetizer.
I ordered fried chicken, of course.
Handsome Paul got some very fancy meatloaf with berry sauce.
We shared a passion fruit dessert at the end (not pictured). It was such a fun date!
We walked the grounds afterwards, and got the car back from the valet. So fancy!
Then to the Clark Planetarium. It's all ripped up being renovated, but we had some fun messing around.
The gift shop is always entertaining:)
We went to one of their laser light shows using our City Pass.
On Saturday, we slept in, and had breakfast at the hotel. We played giant checkers in the lobby as we were heading out for the day.
We went to the Gateway Mall to get my wedding ring resized, and Paul bought me some pretty earrings at Charming Charlie. Then we headed to the South Town Mall. We shared a cheesesteak, and got free fries! The cheesesteak place was also named Charley's...
Then we did some more shopping.
In the afternoon, we headed to our sushi class in Sandy using a Living Social deal. There were 12 people in our class, and the teacher was very entertaining. He also taught us a lot of good tricks. We made California rolls first.
Then this rolled cone sushi with spicy raw tuna inside. I had Paul eat my second one.

The last one was raw salmon over rice.

Joe showed us how he cools the rice in a big wooden bowl. It was fun and interesting, and we were stuffed! We did a little more shopping after that, then back to the hotel.
We changed into some of our new shirts we bought on a great sale.
Then we went to Harmon's grocery to buy food for Sunday. This picture is for Charlie.
This one's for Kit. Poor Paul had a terrible cold by now. He couldn't smell anything, and blew his nose a hundred times. Then, at the checkout counter, he sneezed and his nose started bleeding everywhere. He got somewhat cleaned up, then we tried to go to a French bakery, but it was so crowded and there was nowhere to park, and Paul was kind of a mess, so we just went back to the hotel and ordered some desserts from room service. Never done that before!
On Sunday, we got up early, ate breakfast at the hotel, and went to Music and the Spoken Word. We loved it!

Then we killed time at the visitors centers, and went to sacrament meeting at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (where we had our wedding lunch). We had to sit in the choir seats, which meant we were right behind Elder Ballard and four 70's. Nice homecoming talks from a mission president/wife who just got back from India.

We had someone take a picture of us in front of our temple 10 years later.
Water sculpture at the Conference Center. We ran into Uncle David, who was giving a tour of Temple Square to a nonmember friend from Houston. Small world!
Now we're back at the hotel for the rest of the day. We ate our grocery store lunch, and will have hotel hors d'ovoures later. Poor sick Paul is napping as I write this. I love that he is allowed to have a sick day because he has no other responsibilities right now. I love him so much!
