On Sunday afternoon, we played Monopoly Junior with Grace. She loved it, and was so sad when Alice woke up.
So we gave Alice some pieces we weren't using, and we kept playing! We watched a Barbie movie on the air mattress, and it rained. Pretty fun!
I was sick all day Monday, and layed around while the girls trashed the house. Grace learned to undress Alice, dress her, and change her diaper - kind of. It takes lots of supervision, and is pretty hilarious, but it is some help. We traded cars at the repair shop, then went to dinner at Wendy's. Grace got sick of waiting for her food. In the evening, I made zucchini bread while Paul worked on Ben's thesis. On Tuesday, the girls were really good. I did laundry, took them to the library, and read books with them. Alice was super cute in her 3T clothes, yellow sandals, and headband!
Cute matching sisters! We went to the grocery store in the evening.
On Wednesday, we did a ton of housework and packing to prepare for guests and the reunion. I made an early dinner so we could eat before going to the car place (for the last time!). We spent another $1000 to fix the power steering and the side mirror on the van. But now it's perfect. Then I took Grace (and Alice) to the doctor for her 5-year-old appointment. She probably needs glasses. Paul mowed/edged the lawn, I bathed the girls, and we put them to bed. Then we did more cleaning and packing until Lynne/Kit arrived around 10:30. We visited until late.
On Thursday, the girls were cute. Alice let me curl her pigtails for the first time!
We had a slow morning with Lynne/Kit reading books, playing the piano, and playing downstairs. The girls liked them right away.
When Mom Gabe arrived from the airport, we all helped her get the tent trailer and everything else ready. Lynne and Grace had fun in the garage.
Paul picked Dad Gabe up from the airport on his way home from work, then we were on our way. Lynne/Kit took Grace in their car, Mom/Dad Gabe took Alice, and Paul and I got a nice 3-hour drive alone together! It was so nice. We saw the new Brigham City temple on the way to Bear Lake.
We got to the cabin around 7:30. We sent the girls out back to play in the nice yard, and got unpacked.
We fed the girls and got them to bed as others were still arriving. Nice bunk beds!
Todd/Monica made a delicious meal for everyone that night on the grill - potato salad, chicken sandwiches, and shrimp/bacon/jalapeno kabobs. Mike provided dessert that we ate off of for days! It was hard fitting 4 people in that tiny kitchen. (Mom Gabe, Monica, Todd, Mike)
After dinner, we all gathered in a super hot room for family slideshows by Dayna. (Paul, me, Lynne). It was super hot that night and no one slept well.On Friday, the girls woke us up around 8, and played foosball with cousins before breakfast.
Then we got ready for a day at the lake. Grace and Alice had plenty to do while waiting for everyone else.
As usual, the first step was setting up all the shade. When it got super windy and a little rainy later, these shades had to be held in place by brave members of our party!
Grace learned to swim with a funoodle.
After getting set up, we were the first group out on the boat, along with Lynne/Kit.
Me and my beauties!
Grace loved that her life jacket matched her swimsuit.
And so did Alice's!
Paul took Grace out on the tube.
She was brave and had fun.
Then it was Alice's turn.
Nothing affected her surly face. She didn't get scared when the boat went fast, and she even fell asleep for a minute!
I got some pretty good shots of Lynne and Kit's ride.Brave.
They got some air!
Grace and Alice enjoyed watching from the safety of the boat.
Then Kit, Lynne, and Paul all tried to fit on the tube together. There were some casualties.
Uncle Mike's smug look after whipping the boat around as much as he could to try and knock people off the tube.
Kit and Paul: Brothers in Extreme Tubing.
It was pretty rough.Kit may have fallen off once or twice.
But he got back on again.
I got on for a short easy ride. I was terrified and didn't last long, but at least I got on.
My girls love their aunt Lynne!
Cute shot of Grace using Grandpa Gabe's binoculars.
Alice making a mess with bubbles.
The girls LOVED playing in the sand!
Alice got pretty tired without a nap, and fell asleep on the way back to the cabin.
We bathed the girls, then Grandma Lu pushed them on the swing. They begged for food and bed by 7! Lauren made awesome sweet and sour meatballs, and Dayna made my favorite triple chocolate cake. We played Super Killer Uno that night. I was tied with two others for first place, then Lynne gave me a draw-28. The game ended badly for me. We watched the Olympics before bed. It rained hard that night and we all slept better.
On Saturday, we spent another day at the lake. Dad Gabe found some old "pink zinc" that Grace couldn't resist using.
We swam, then the girls ate lunch under a towel. It was kind of cold.
They all buried each other's legs and feet.
Paul let me wear his shirt when I got too cold.
Then he took the girls down to play in the wet sand. The water was super choppy and wavy. Mom/Dad Gabe played with the girls on the tube in the lake, and Paul and I had a nice swim/wade together.
Alice was cold when we all got back to shore.
And sleepy.
When we got home, we got all cleaned up and into our family picture clothes. Our family was supposed to wear BYU stuff. Here are the girls by the view from our cabin.
Sweet sisters!
I can't get enough of Alice's cute faces, so I'm just gonna post a bunch of them. What's your favorite? 1 (above)?

With only 2 showers in the house, we had to be creative with getting ready. Here we are doing our hair in the laundry room. (Lauren, Dayna, me, Mallory)
No, there was not a mirror in there, but there was an outlet, an extension cord, and a reflective glass cabinet. We know how to be resourceful!
Grace hung out with the photographer's daughter, who happens to be a friend from the ward. Yes, she drove all the way up from Riverton! Every family wore their team gear, and hopefully we got some good pictures.
A moose eyeing our new van.
The mama and baby moose were like 15 feet from us.
Oh, and a squirrel. One got into the house at one point and pooped on the couch.
Moose in our backyard!
Bear Lake view. We got the girls in bed after a story from Lynne/Kit, who were leaving that night. Grace thinks Kit is a "too nice uncle" for saying she was the prettiest one at the family photo shoot.
Mom Gabe made delicious Italian chicken for dinner, we helped with the clean up, then we played poker. I held my own for quite a while, but finally lost to Todd and Alan. We went to bed super tired again.
On Sunday, we got up early and went to a local church. We had to sit in the primary room because the chapel, gym, and RS room were all full! Then back to the cabin to help everyone get out of there on time, and on to Ogden. Most everyone else stayed for one more round of boating, but we were glad to be on our way. Mom/Dad Gabe took the girls with them, so we had another nice drive together. When we got to Grandma Grace's, she was dog sitting 2 dogs in addition to her own. Grace was terrified, but if you can believe it, she finally warmed up to one of them! Alice took a much needed nap, and we ate and visited.
Playing Go Fish. Grandma, Grace, and Grandma Grace - ha! (Note that Grandma Terisa is using Bobotch to help her win.) We had a nice visit, then home to get the girls in their own beds. We unpacked, planned, visited, and went to bed trashed.
This morning, Paul had to work. The rest of us hung around the house for a while, and the girls did BYU cheers.
Then some outdoor time with Grandpa. And that's where we're at. We had a fun time, and thanks so much to Mom/Dad Gabe for sponsoring our stay at the cabin, as well as helping with our girls. We get them until Wednesday when they fly back to Philly. It's so nice to have them here!
