Sick Week

I already posted one blog this week (the ultrasound pictures), and I've been pretty sick, so I don't have a lot of pictures to post today.

On Sunday, the girls were pretty good at stake conference. In the afternoon, I made potato salad, we dropped the van off at the repair shop (just to have it looked over sometime during the week), and then the girls played around on the couch. They are so cute together!
Pretending to be asleep. We had a fun dinner that evening with the Backmans. Paul grew up with Spencer, so they had fun going through old scout photos together. I had gotten to know Christina a little through RS, and she's having her 3rd boy this week, so we had a lot to talk about. Grace and Alice had fun playing with their two little boys. We had a really great time!
On Monday, Alice was too tired to get up.
 Just kidding!
Paul worked from home until it was time to go to SLC for the ultrasound. We took 2 cars so Paul could go on to work afterwards. The girls were cute sharing a chair in the waiting room - until Grace sneezed!
 That's better.
The girls were pretty good during the ultrasound. We were all so excited and somewhat shocked that it's a boy! Everything else looked good, no obvious problems, and the Nov. 4 due date still seems right.
We wanted to get a picture of Paul outside the hospital where he was born. Then we went to a really good Chinese buffet for lunch and made tons of phone calls to announce the news. It was fun! Paul got home around 7, I taught FHE on being good big sisters, and Paul and I discussed boy names all evening.
On Tuesday, I was sick: nausea, lightheaded, headache, stomachache, weak, etc. Grace was a good helper with Alice. I threw some dinner together before Paul got home at 6:45.
On Wednesday, I gave Grace a list of chores to do while I did laundry, dishes, and Paul's scholarship application (printing, collating, stapling, etc.). Grace was such a help! Then we went to the library for books and movies, and for the puppet show. They asked for brave 4-year-old volunteers to be eaten by boa constrictors. Good thing Grace was still 4! She got to be in the purple snake.
There were over 100 kids there, and about 50 adults. It was wild! The girls really liked it though.
Then we read books, and Alice napped. I read scriptures and did laundry and computer work while Grace read 10 minutes in her chapter book, 10 minutes in her Bible comic book, wrote in her journal, and watched a movie. She is really a good girl! After Alice's nap, we colored, read books, played downstairs, cleaned the house, did part of a hula workout movie, had a dance party, and I bathed the girls. Paul got home after 7. We quickly ate, then I went to the temple to do initiatories. When I got home, Paul and I hung out on the porch swing. Nice night.
On Thursday, I felt super weak, but I took the girls to the Jordan River park. They loved it! I sat in the shade, and they took care of each other. Grace even stands at the bottom of the slide for Alice. And we were the only ones there, so they had free reign of the place. We tried the playground across the river, and walked a little on the parkway, but it was getting too hot. We were all wiped out when we got home. I was feeling pretty sick by the afternoon. Paul got off early after a visit to Hill AFB, so we went to McDonald's for dinner. It was the last day for $1 Big Macs. The girls loved the play place! Then Paul went to the temple.
Friday was rough. I threw up 10 times before I finally asked Paul to come home an hour and a half early from work. After he gave me a blessing I only threw up 2 more times, but I still felt horrible. Paul made grilled cheese sandwiches for him and the girls, and we watched our Friday night movie in our bedroom so I could be comfortable. We went to bed early.
Saturday I was still sick and weak and sore and nauseated. I layed low while Paul took care of things. I thought I was up for some errands in the afternoon, but we had to cut it short because the heat was making me so sick. Paul played with the girls and had a dance party with them, then he and I watched an old Cary Grant movie "People Will Talk". We really liked it.
Today, I'm skipping church. I still feel awful. At least I'm not throwing up, but I'm still a mess. Thank heaven for Paul! What will I do when he has to work tomorrow? I hope his fasting and all of Grace's prayers will push me over the edge of this sickness!
Grace got a Strawberry Shortcake magazine from the library and had us copy out the page with the connect-the-dots on it. It turned out to be a sand castle, so she made up a song about it.
